Doubtful Sound cruise area
Doubtful Sound actually joins two other sounds; Thompson Sound and Bradshaw Sound. Together they make up what we like to call the Doubtful Sound complex and we explore much of it on our overnight trip. Because we like to make the best of each trip for you we don't follow a fixed route but change it to suit the day (it's also why we don't have a dotted line on this map! This should give you an idea of the area we cover though, and where we are in relation to New Zealand.
Areas we visit
Although we can access most of the sounds there area couple of spots commercial vessels aren't allowed to go to. In reality this is tiny and limited to one arm (First Arm) of the Sound.
Trips change with the weather. While we try to ensure you see as much of the Sound as possible, safety must come first. That said, rain won't sink the boat(!) and so won't nesessarily change the trip. We think it even adds to the experience.
